CBD BENEFITS FOR PAIN
One of the largest benefits that CBD can offer is potential reduction in pain. The use of marijuana for pain has been referenced as far back as 2900 B.C. Our bodies contain a special system known as the “endocannabinoid system” which plays a role in many functions such as sleep, appetite, immune health, and pain (1). We as human produce theses endocannabinoids as neurotransmitters and they bind to the cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system.
There have been studies that show CBD may have an effect on the reduction of chronic pain by reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters (2).
In a 2018 review of the effects of CBD on chronic pain showed effectiveness in overall pain management from cancer pain, neuropathic pain, and fibromyalgia. Along with this, there were no negative side effects seen (3).
